DESIGNERS: Lauren Hoffman, Liam Smith and I
OBJECTIVE: Design and construct a Little Free Library to be installed in a strategic location on Ohio State's campus. This specific LFL is to provide the University community with free access to books/literature while enhancing the space and creating the whole service ecosystem for the LFL.
CONCEPT STATEMENT
College campuses are hubs for learning, but 14% of adults in the United States are unable to read at a rudimentary level. By offering free access to books and poetry as well as revamping a space on Ohio State’s campus typically used for smoke breaks, this Little Free Library aims to present an alternative for a short break: reading.
GOALS
+ Provide a unique space where students can read during short breaks in their day.
+ Provide a clean space for smokers and an opportunity to change behavior if wanted.
